UMACC Food Pantry and Resource Center Policy

At UMACC, we are committed to serving our community with dignity and fairness. Because we operate as a Full Choice Food Pantry and as a Resource Center, there are different guidelines for each.

Food Pantry

TEFAP Meal Bag Program

UMACC is proud to participate in The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP), which provides basic food to anyone in need.

  • TEFAP is a federal program that supplies USDA food. We are required to provide these foods to anyone who comes to UMACC.

  • No ID is required to receive TEFAP food. Families simply complete a short eligibility form once a year, as required by the program, and will receive their meal bag.

  • Families who are not eligible for full shopping will receive a Meal Bag only. Our team will retrieve your Meal Bag for you.

  • Foods purchased directly by UMACC or donated by our community are not part of TEFAP.

Eligibility to Shop at UMACC

To ensure we can serve families fairly and in alignment with our guidelines, the following criteria apply for full pantry shopping access to the Resource Center:

  • Families are registered by UMACC through an application process and receive approval prior to shopping.

  • A valid form of identification is required (P state-issued driver’s license or state ID).

  • Households are served based on residency with the Upper Merion Area School District (Upper Merion Township, Bridgeport, or West Conshohocken).

  • Utility bills are NOT accepted as proof of residency.

  • Each visit is limited to shopping for one household. If multiple families live at the same address, we kindly ask that they be combined as one household and that a single designated shopper pick up food on behalf of everyone living there.

Resource Center (Non-Food Items)

Our Resource Center provides items that are not part of TEFAP, such as:

  • Personal care & hygiene products

  • Diapers & paper products

  • Back-to-school backpacks & supplies

  • Seasonal items (toys, coats, holiday programs)
