UMACC Food Pantry and Resource Center Policy

At UMACC, we are committed to serving our community with dignity and fairness. Because we operate as a Full Choice Food Pantry and as a Resource Center, there are different guidelines for each.

Food Pantry (TEFAP & Other Food Programs)

UMACC is proud to participate in The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP), which provides basic food to anyone in need.

  • TEFAP is a federal program that supplies USDA food. We are required to provide these foods to anyone who comes to UMACC.

  • No ID is required to receive TEFAP food. Families simply complete a short eligibility form once a year, as required by the program.

  • Families who are not eligible for full shopping will receive a Meal Bag only.

  • Foods purchased directly by UMACC or donated by our community are not part of TEFAP.

Resource Center (Non-Food Items)

Our Resource Center provides items that are not part of TEFAP, such as:

  • Personal care & hygiene products

  • Diapers & paper products

  • Back-to-school backpacks & supplies

  • Seasonal items (toys, coats, holiday programs)

Eligibility to Shop at UMACC

To be eligible for full pantry shopping and access to the Resource Center:

  • Families must provide a valid ID (PA state-issued driver’s license or state ID).

  • Families must reside within the Upper Merion Area School District (Upper Merion Township, Bridgeport, or West Conshohocken).

  • Utility bills are NOT accepted as proof of residency.

  • Each Patron may shop for their family only during their visit to the pantry AND only one family per address is eligible to shop at the pantry. If multiple families reside at the same address, we kindly ask that you combine as one household and designate a single shopper to pick up food on behalf of everyone living there.
