UMACC Receives Grant from Montco Anti-Hunger Network (MAHN)
Today, Montgomery County Commissioners Commissioner Neil Makhija, Commissioner Jamila Winder, and Commissioner Tom DiBello joined MontCo Anti-Hunger Network, Upper Merion Area Community Cupboard, Rep. Madeleine Dean, Rep. Joe Webster, and advocates to announce more than $1.1 million in investments to fight hunger.
Since 2023, the county has awarded $500,000 each year to the Montco Anti-Hunger Network (MAHN) as part of the Nourish Montco Grant program. MAHN then distributes funds to food pantries across its network. In addition to direct food purchases, this year the County awarded 13 inaugural Food Systems Infrastructure grants, as recommended by the Food Policy Council.
